She was joined in the meeting by the country’s other nine Metro Mayors. Following the event, Tracy Brabin said:
“I and the other Metro Mayors had a productive and positive meeting with new Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Michael Gove, yesterday.
“He and I agreed that improved public transport connectivity, investment in skills, addressing the climate emergency, and an exciting and wide-ranging cultural offer were vital to levelling up.
“I look forward to working with him and his department in partnership to deliver a just, fair and lasting recovery for our region.”
